Afgelopen woensdag heeft de Surinaamse Schaakbond (SSB) Nationaal Schaakkampioen FM Viresh Giasi afgevaardigd naar Medellín, Colombia, om deel te nemen aan het “XVII Absolute Continental Chess Championship of the Americas 2024, Jorge Vega in Memoriam“. Viresh Giasi, FIDE-meester, veroverde vorige maand opnieuw de titel van nationaal schaakkampioen tijdens het Nationale Schaakkampioenschap 2024, gehouden in het Denksportcentrum in Paramaribo.
